Intro and basic question from a new person

12-21-2005 10:18 AM

Good Morning:

I have just started as a Network Tech for Community Resource Center in Harrisonburg, VA. I will be implementing a network using HMIS (Homeless Management Information Systems) We are non-profit 501(c) (3). You are 3 hrs ahead of us. (ex: 10:30am in VA and 7:30am in CA)

Another organization passed the TechSoup Stock Catalog Fall 2005 to our organization.

I have:
*Joined and logged in to MyTechSoup - lblackbu
*Register my organization – 281EastMarketStreet

My question is what if I pay by check who do I write the check out to?

Also can you email me a fax order form or is this on-line somewhere? Can we mail this in? Can you order on-line?

Where is the location that I check for the cost of Linksys Cisco Switches/Routers?

***When I order can I only order one software package or do I have to order a certain amount?
“All Microsoft Software Donation Program offering (except Small Business Server) require a minimum of 5 licenses per order.”
(Ex: LS-2304 Office 2003 Professional – 20.00 – Can I order one at 20.00 or do I have to spend $100.00 for 5 copies?)

Once I order how do I follow up on my order can I call a number to check my order? Or go to a site location?

Thanks for your help,

Hi Lynda,

Welcome to Techsoup and Techsoup Stock. I just took a look at your account set up and it looks great to me. So you are all set to place your first order with Techsoup Stock for donated software and Cisco equipment. There is an Order Form you can use and you can find it at the back of the catalog you received. The catalog is also available online as a download as well. Simply send it in via fax or regular mail, along with a credit card number or a check/money order as payment, and we will process them when we receive it. You can make the check out to "Compumentor" or "Techsoup Stock" However, the best way to order is to order online via our website. Generally the processing time for online orders is much shorter than mail or fax orders. In addition, you can track the progress of your order online. Here's some good information that we've posted on our FAQ that talks about this subject matter:

How do I place an order?
How do I check on the status on my order?

You can check on the cost of all of our software/Cisco equipment in the online catalog located on the Techsoup Stock homepage. However, pricing information for Linksys prodcuts isn't immediately available, as Techsoup Stock is still working with Cisco on finalizing the details of the Linksys donation program. We'll post the informaton online as soon as it becomes available. I also encourage you to subscribe to our New Product Alert newsletter to be updated periodically about news of new offerings through our programs.

When you are ordering software on our site, you are more likely to encounter a maximum limit than a minimum. Some programs, e.g. Symantec, limit our customers to purchasing a certain number of licenses within a given time period, while others may not have any such restrictions at all (e.g Mailshell Antispam). As for Microsoft, there is a minimum purchase that you must meet in your order before you can check out. You must have at least 5 licenses (or 5 copies) of Microsoft products to meet the minimum. It can be 5 of the same products, or a different combination of any number of Microsoft programs. For more information on the Microsoft 5 Seat Minimum please take a look at this FAQ.

Lastly, you can always contact us via the email and phone contact information found on our Contact Page. You can also post your questions here on the forum and I or any one of our users and moderators will be glad to help you as well.

Hope that answer all of your questions, and please feel free to let me know if there is anything else you need.

Happy holidays!
Clement
