The others all seem to be either paid commercial or free trial versions.

The OP didn't specify which OS, so I'm gonna assume Windows.

I would suggest checking out ImageMagick for Linux, Mac or Windows. It's a very flexible Open Source suite of tools that supports tons of formats and operations. Because it is a command line utility, it is very fast and can be used to do batch processing of large amounts of files.

http://www.imagemagick.org/script/index.php

If you use a major Linux distribution such as Ubuntu, you can install it via the package manager.

Cheers,

-n8

Along with Irfanview it's probably the most recommended image converter and viewer, but I prefer XnView by a good margin. XnView supports more formats (over 400 for viewing, 50 for saving to), is more frequently updated, has decent filter and image adjustment functionality, an image browser, tabbed interface, is highly customizable, has great screen capturing system built-in, powerful batch processing, and a lot more.

Free download here: http://xnview.com/en/index.html
