That's fair - you have the option to not include advertisements when you are paying for the system. How much, on average, does the enterprise system cost? Is it priced per mailbox?

SAFENTRIX does not send any advertsiement of its own. It appends a one line text advertisement and a one line link to every normal email received by user (as a signature).

Let us say, an organization decides to implement it. After some time, one of the user notices an advertisement and objects to it. In this case, organization can switch that user alone to SAFENTRIX Enterprise edition (aka Premium Service). Rest of the users in that domain can continue with the Standard Edition.

Within the same domain, you can have x users who are in Standard Edition (organization does not have to pay anything) and y users who are in Enterprise edition (organization pays).

I do understand the scenario. With us, this is very unlikely due to the following reasons:

A. SAFENTRIX is a database oriented architecture and a replicated Database (Replication to ensure continuity in case one Data Center has issues) is used for Email scanning/blocking/delivery.
B. There is no manual intervention in any of the processes (even in setting up SAFENTRIX). You can try out now and you can setup SFX in less than 3 hours flat without requiring to contact anybody.
C. Because of the above, it is next to impossible for things to go wrong in your account alone.
D. Ofcourse, things change/go wrong (software needs upgrade, Hardware crashes, Connectivity goes down). In this case, redundancy comes into picture and rest of the Infrastructure handles the Email traffic. In case of Software upgrades, Rolling upgrade is done to avoid downtime. So while the individual components have issues, redundancy saves the day.
E. I am avoiding discussing the situation where the redundancy fails (this means a once-in-possibly-multiple-lifetime-disaster at multiple locations).
F. Then there is always monitoring. Test emails are sent in frequent intervals and their delivery checked for delays/congestion. Thus, we will know about problems before hearing from clients (and able to fix it by the time any body has the urge to try contacting us).
G. As far as specific emails being blocked/non-delivery is concerned, SAFENTRIX always allows a sender to get in touch with you (see Whitelist) and support would be quite unnecessary for the same.

And these technologies are fairly stable that I would think lot of the Security providers will have this.

Given this, it would be quite unnecessary to pick up the phone for support. And anyway, SAFENTRIX does provide Chat support.

krishnan, your spam filtering solution sends advertisements to anyone that receives the emails from you. Does the receiver have a choice in blocking the advertisement, or are they stuck with it?

SPAM is in the eye of the beholder. And with all due respect to you and your marketing rhetoric, you're still saying that you're going to replace one kind of SPAM with another kind of SPAM. Most people, unencumbered by your obvious bias, will see that proposition as utterly ridiculous and will choose one of the better solutions found elsewhere. You might want to give that some thought.

I couldn't agree more. If I received a business email from someone and there is a banner ad at the bottom, it would be a huge turnoff for me. I find that it would be unprofessional.

As far as mxguarddog, I don't think I could justify giving them ad space on the company website as that again would be unprofessional. If potential donors come to our website, I want it to be attractive.

I have used MX GuardDog for a while and have had no issues. They now have three servers to support the traffic. I have run into an issue where no matter what I did the mail would loop between MX GuardDog and the hosting provider who also (AND VERY POORLY) scans all mail for spam.

I would say for 95% of people it would work perfectly.

NOTE: MX GuardDog has had great customer support and even work with my hosting provider to understand/fix issues.

NOTE2: The number of "seats" you get with MX GuardDog is based on the popularity of a web page. If you add a link to a page that is not really ever visited like a FAQ page you only get a couple seats.

SPAM is unsolicited. In the case of SAFENTRIX, client chooses to do it, so it is not unsolicited. It is advertising and not SPAM. And also SAFENTRIX makes the business model very clear and clients choose after full knowledge (See here). In fact, we do not expect everyone to read the "Terms Of Service" and that is why we make it clear right in the Questions page (which you can see prominently in top right corner of EVERY page).

Secondly there is accountability (see here). Put simply, if we actually put SPAM (like your typical phishing email or Fake ****ra site or Stock scam) in there, clients will be disgusted and will take the service elsewhere. The advertisements are non-obtrusive. They do not lead to loss of employee productivity (one of the big issues with SPAM).

We are absolutely serious and committed to give the best possible SPAM Control with Industry leading reliability. The idea is that if we can offer the choice of good SPAM control to clients free (or at whatever they can spend), they would be willing to let us put in small text advertisement in their emails (Just like publishers are willing to put small text advertisements in their site in return to getting money whenever it is clicked).

Krishnan, a few years ago, we used a paid filtering service called Mail Route. We ran into troubles one day where we weren't receiving any emails. If I have to email someone that I am having trouble, how can I receive a reply back if that is what is broken? It turned out to be a setting on their end with our account and was fixed within minutes of talking to their Technical Support staff over the phone.

I hope the comment is not made sarcastically.

But whatever it is , I stand by the comment and I hope it is not intentional that you have deleted a key word in my statement.

I had said "an infrastructure for personally replying to ALL clients.". You had deleted the "personally" part which is the key.

Replying to all people is easy. Just send a mass email. But if you think that is personal, we just have to agree to disagree.

You must have heard Gmail having outage for an hour or so in the last month. I am also sure you know that Gmail offers paid as well as Free Email Services. When the outage was there, Gmail just posted a notice on the web site. I don't think they (or any other company for that matter would) called each commercial customer and informed of the same.

This is exactly what I meant.

And also this reply was specifically to a point made which said

"What happens if you have your email filtering through their servers and things suddenly stop coming? Are you going to hope that an email to support will get it fixed quickly? "

My point is that no companty builds infrasrtucture for personally handling all clients and therefore in this situation it does not matter whether it is commercial or Free service provider.

So let's see if I understand your free service. You filter out the random SPAM that constitutes SOME messages and replace it with your own SPAM added to ALL messages.

Are you serious????? Why would anyone want you to do that?
