I think that Intuit controls usage by limiting the use of an installation copy to one desk computer workstation and (strangely to my mind) one "notebook."

I am not certain that this will work, but it is what we were doing with Quickbooks 2006 and plan to do on Quickbooks 2009. Install a 1-user copy on each of the workstations on which you plan to use Quickbooks (not the same copy). Put the Company File on the network server, and open it from Quickbooks on the workstations. It will probably not allow both persons to update the Company File at the same time—i.e. one of them will work with a read-only copy.

There may be more to this that I don't know about.

The information regarding the functionality of multiple, single-user licenses was provided to us by Intuit though there may be ways to get the functionality that you need. I would suggest reviewing the Intuit website or possibly contacting them directly by email through their website support portal. You may also find some good suggestions here in the forums.

TechSoup does have a policy regarding the return of administrative fees as these fees are to primarily cover the costs for qualifying organizations and processing the requests for donated products. For more information about administrative fees, please visit the Overview in our Getting Started Guide. This returns policy is listed on the Returns Policy Page, the individual product detail pages as well as the during the checkout process.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

However I was just told (by Tech Soup sales support) that they will not network and now I am out my $45 admin. fee (since they are completely unbending on their refund policy). Is that the case? Has anyone had any experience and been able to get it networked?

Thanks a lot,
