We also have a Veterans Housing Program and Adult Daycare that are going to starting up in the next few months.

I am Philip K. Appiah, the Director of Paajaf Foundation in Ghana (www.paajaf.org). We are initiating a project - 21st Century Leadership Training for Gender Equality and Technology in our community- Gbawe, Accra, Ghana.

100 participants are to take free online leadership course to become community leaders. We are in need for computers for our lab. Can someone help us? We used computers,laptops and printers? Or do you know an organisation that can help?

Hello there,first of all i would like to thank you guys for coming together to form such a helpful organisation.I am in the process of registering a non profit in the sub-saharan Africa that involves setting up centers to train people in the marginalised communities i.e slums and villages the basic skills of computing.The organisations' already registered name is Smart Africa and will be fully registered by the end of next week.With this project i will require help from basically anyone who is willing to give a hand to implement it.My inquiry is that does Techsoup donate refurbished computers at no cost and also does it offer financial aid in any way to such organisations as mine?I would be very thankful for any replies directed to this post.

Need help with online database

My name is Adolfo Echeverry and I am the Research Associate for the San Francisco Welcome Back Center, www.welcomebackinitiative.org

We have an online database that was designed by a Chinese company and it's still hosted in Hong Kong.

We want to bring our database (migrate) to the US and also would like to make some changes to it once it is hosted here. The database is a combination of SQL and JavaScript.

I was wondering if there's someone out there who'd have the interest and time to handle this project.

Hi - I just joined TechSoup and registered my organization, the Oakland Symphony Chorus. I'm the webmistress there, and for 3 other local groups, one of which I may also register. I'm a retired technician (19 years with a major bank's data processing group) and have done everything from mainframes to email systems (including email ON mainframes). Current projects:

Upgrading the OSC web site to DotNetNuke 4.9.5 (and finding a cheap, working photo gallery module, as the one we're using doesn't work on it)

Building a new site on DotNetNuke 4.9.5 for a local political organization

Supporting a bookstore web site for LifeRing Press, which we're trying to get certified for PCI DSS.

Maintaining a Joomla! site for the Rockridge Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council.

And just today: trying to convert the OSC's operating databases from FileMaker PRO v.3 to Microsoft Access... anybody here ever done that??

Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to chew up more than I can bite off...

New - and looking for a document repository

Hello, we are a non-profit community theater company and our board of directors has recently requested a free way to keep their documents in a repository that all members of the board can access from their homes. This should be password-protected. I have tried a few different blogs and wikis, that either don't allow uploads of excel files or make it very difficult to password-protect. Oh, yes, it needs to be free to us.

Introducing AmpleHarvest.org - backyard gardeners helping local food pantries

AmpleHarvest.org is a national campaign to diminish hunger by enabling backyard (patio-rooftop-kitchen too) gardeners to share their bounty with neighborhood food pantries.

The site is free both for the food pantries and the gardeners using it.

More than 1,100 food pantries nationwide are already on it and more are signing up daily.

It has received backing from the USDA, Google, many faith and service organizations, bloggers, writers, etc.

We need your help.

If you are a gardener with extra produce, please use the site to share what you wish with a community pantry.

If you belong to a house of worship that hosts a food pantry/bank/shelf, please let them know about AmpleHarvest.org and encourage them to register on the site (remind them it is free).

Please print the flier at http://www.ampleharvest.org/InformingTheGardener.php and ask your local nursery/gardenshop etc. to post it in a conspicuous location. You can also post it on the bulletin board of your local supermarket and library.

Lastly, please email/call/Tweet your friends around the country and let them know about AmpleHarvest.org.

How Do I Get Help

Hi -

So I'm new to non-profiting and forums. I need help figuring out how to upgrade the current programs to products that are easier to use, and hopefully integrate. So how do I get help in figuring out which products we need to use to get the most out of our technology?

For example, we are using GiftWorks, MacroMedia Contribute 3 and QuickBooks Online. I'd like to find a donor program that's more easy to use and that integrates with QuickBooks Online; and I'd like a MUCH easier website development/management software tool.

Unfortunately i'm technologically ignorant, so I am not sure which questions to ask!

Hello!

My name is Timothy McDonough. I am an Americorp*VISTA working with the Community Mediation Center (CMC) in Columbia, SC. I am hoping that by the time my year of service is complete, CMC will have seen some improvements made to their technology. We are a rather small non-profit working with older desktops that meet our current needs. CMC is looking forward to a period of growth. It is my firm belief that the office's technology will need to grow with our organization.

I am also on the Board of Directors for a non-profit which is still working on securing their 501c3 status. This organization is called the Eau Claire Promise Zone (ECPZ) and is using the Promise Neighborhood Model that was first seen in Harlem with Geoffrey Canada's Harlem Children's Zone. We have recently secured in office space but as of yet there is no equipment. However, we do have a sponsoring organization that is acting as a fiscal agent as we fund raise and continue the process toward securing our 501c3.
