I'm interning for a microfinance organisation that has field offices across Latin America and Africa. Those field offices often have trouble with their internet connectivity (trouble getting onto server, uploading docs, sending attachments in email, skyping, etc) and our organisation is looking to see what others who work in these areas are doing. Is everyone experiencing the same problems, or are there ways to mediate the situation?

We've discussed mirroring the server in these areas, expanding bandwidth, using an external server (ftp), but our IT dept doesn't know if these will help.

Just wondering if anyone had any tips they could share on how to manage.
