The quality is generally a bit low but improving. The format is usually 3gp or 3g2 - formats can be changed via ffmpeg. Upload these files to a webserver, bluetooth them to other phones or computers or MMS/email them.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;www.Qik.com &amp;nbsp;seems to be the best site for that.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You can stream live, and save clips, make them private or public and download them to your PC for editing.....&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;you just need a smartphone....go to their site to see what phones are capable...&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I have the Verizon XV6800 &amp;nbsp;works like a charm.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Like One Laptop per Child, how might we design and produce one, with needed bandwidth, for the developing world, especially? World University and School - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com - may be a rationale for developing this. With this technology and World University and School, illiterate people could record instruction through their video-capable handhelds, and post it to WUaS wiki through youtube, for example.&lt;/p&gt;
