Encryption Software

Because of HIPPA and COA requirements we (non profit) need to get encryption software. I tried to download a
free version of PGP software but because we have a router firewall, they
couldn't determine my location so wouldn't allow me to download to my
computer here at work. Any suggestions?
Does TechSoup Stock offer any encryption software? What are other non profits using and if there is a cost what does it average per workstation? We have a network with 40 computers on it.

A free version of PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) software, from a link off tech soup.

Try going from this link: http://www.pgpi.org/products/pgp/versions/freeware/

I would actually stick with version 7.x, since 8.x has some additional licensing restrictions.

There is also GPG, which is a 100% free alternative. It is available via the same site.

A good place to get information about all things PGP is Tom McCune's website. It's well organized and he explains everything in plain English:
