I'm trying to set up a web site on ourWin 2003 Server. Http://WWW.waysidehouse.net. The site is "up". But I'm not able to publish to the site. I have installed the Front Page Server Extentions. However when I try to publish I get a message saying that I wasn't able to connect possible due to Front Page Extensions not loaded

Have you checked the security closely? If you are certain the server extensions are properly installed, security would be the next likely culprit. Make sure to check the security settings from inside FrontPage and on the server using the IIS Snap-in for the MMC.

There may be 2 issues.....
If you cannot login, check the .htaccess file to make sure that it is configured correctly. Specifically, verify that the server (for example, "www123" matches the server in the account's Edit Account Information (EAI) screen. In addition, check that the UserID in the EAI is correct. If either the server or UserID do not match, edit the .htaccess file, changing the server and/or UserID as necessary. No other changes should be necessary.
Any subwebs on the account will also have their own .htaccess file that will require editing. Likewise, their access.cnf files will editing. Remember... the access.cnf file is found in the _vti_pvt folders of the Root Web as well as in any subwebs that have been created.
Another typical error A typical error upon trying to open website tells you that it can't find it or that it is on a protected volume etc. This is because you either TYPED THE WRONG URL, ENTERED THE WRONG USERNAME/PASSWORD, or YOUR PC IS NOT SETUP CORRECTLY.
A typical pc problem is that you aren't online or your pc does not have Microsoft Personal Webserver or Microsoft Client for Networks installed. To determine if you have them installed, open Control Panel and look for an icon Personal Web Server. If it is not there, look in your windows explorer under C:\Program Files\ Personal Web Server. If it is not there, you likely don't have it installed. Install it from the Front Page Install CD.
Also, look in Control Panel for the Networks icon. Open it up and see that you have Microsoft Client for Networks installed. If not, click Add, choose Client, then find the Client for Microsoft Networks. Ok your way out of there. It will likely ask you for your Windows install CD to be put into your CD Rom.

Since you are using a Windows 2003 Server, I would be very surprised if editing the .htaccess files would do anything. On my servers, I have sometimes had to manually create local windows permissions groups with the name format that FrontPage expects in order to get permission working correctly. If you are using a web hosting service provider, I would ask them to review the permissions of the web site you are having trouble with...
