TechSoup projects in the news!

We're excited to have some TechSoup projects in the news! I just wrote up a blog post about the recent press we've received about our annual NetSquared conference, featured projects, and our Nonprofits in Second Life mixed reality event that took place at the conference. Check it out and find out more about some inspiring organizations making a difference.

What projects do you find particularly promising? Do you see mobile technologies and/or virtual worlds playing a large role in the future of nonprofit technology?

Best.

I'm personally super impressed with some of the mobile challenge winners from Net2, like Frontline SMS:Medic and DatAgro. I didn't get to see them in action at the conference, but just looking at their submissions on Net2 makes me excited that this type of work is being done and developing more and more around the world.

My husband's family in Honduras has no access to Internet or a computer (their town has no Internet available at all) but they all have a mobile/cell phone. The possibilities for expanding services to people in areas without the infrastructure for regular Internet or the money to own a decent computer is mind-boggling. Love it!

Makes me proud to be tangentially connected to these orgs!

We've cross-posted Susan's original piece from HuffPo on the TechSoup Blog, so feel free to add your two cents to the conversation here as well!
