Unable to install Norton 360

04-28-2009 10:03 AM

Our agency has 6 PCs on a network, five of them are protected by Norton 360. The 6th PC will not install Norton 360 so it is currently protected by AVG Pro. It is time to renew subscriptions to the security software, any ideas about getting the 6th PC to install the new Norton 360? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks CG

Uninstall any versions of Nortion (or any other AV software) before attempting a fresh install.  Also make sure the registry is clean as there may be some leftoever vestiges from previous attempts.

Hello,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

As the other person mentioned, fully removing AVG is the first step you need to take before installing Norton 360.  Symantec has created a guide to installing Norton 360 which will hopefully resolve the issue you are having.  Using Internet Explorer, please click on the link below and carefully follow the instructions for installing Norton 360.

If you still experience problems when trying to install Norton 360 after following the steps in the document above, please let me know so that I can assist you further.

Thank you,

Mike
