9 Ways to Reach Digital Natives

This article, directed at for-profits, has some good tips on how to reach people who are comfortable with social media. Good tips for nonprofits who want to reach younger donors, too.

Here are the 9 tips. The article, 9 Ways to Reach Digital Natives (and the Rest of Us, Too) shares more details on each of the tips.

    1. Offering or sponsoring online research tools.

    2. Constantly refreshed content.

    3. Creating content to share.

    4. Tossing out marketing-speak and your product-centric point of view—in all your communications and advertising.

    5. Finding ways to include video and/or audio.

    6. Fostering brand loyalty.

    7. Monitoring the conversation, and participating in it.

    8. Being transparent.

    9. Being prepared for the worst. (And not wishing they'd simply go away.)

Hope they help,

One word: RSS

If the site doesn't release its stuff in that format, then I don't have time for it.

Good point, Rog. I'd also add:

--Provide means for collaboration and ways for people to connect w/ other users/members

--Making it easy to share content inport/export user-created content

Best,
