So my top ten things I love about FOSS right now:

- Bacula
- Ubuntu 8.04LTS
- Mint Linux
- Microsoft NOT buying Yahoo!
- Slashdot (of course!)
- Logical Volume Management
- Mozilla Songbird
- Zoho Creator (now with SSL!, and yeah not really FOSS)
- OpenOffice Database - Sun Report Builder
- Timevault (kind of like Time Machine for Linux)

I could probably think of a few more, but hey - it's not a top fourteen list!

Personally, I can't live without...

-jAlbum - for photo albums we host on our Web host
-pixie - to help figure out the hex for a color
-Flexible Renamer - renames chunks of files at one time
-FontList - prints list of fonts on system
-Multiple IE's - great for getting the css bugs out
-Firefox, Firebug add on - makes those "what if" css design questions easy to ask.

As long as you are in here talking about freebies, I am looking for a good remote desktop management solution. Our non-profit is located in 5 counties and it would be very nice to remote in to users to see their system when there are problems. Any good suggestions?

You could use Yugma for remote desktop. It is free for less than 10 users. It is designed for web conferences, but sharing desktops is one of its features.

Be sure to also check out CrossLoop. Very easy to use, quick setup. Fit for people of all skill levels, but an especially good choice for non-techies.
