Hi Ana--

Welcome to TechSoup! Good to hear from a local. :smile;

I'm sure others will have suggestions, but you might also want to check out this article on finding a good Web hosting provider. Another good resources is The List, where you can conduct tailored searches for different Web hosting providers.

Hope this helps get you started.

Best,

Megan

Hi Ana,

A good option for you might be Dreamhost. Good services and great support. And they also offer a discount to qualifying nonprofits. From their page:
DreamHost offers a FREE "Strictly Business" hosting plan to non-profit, charitable organizations registered in the United States.

This discount applies to a single hosting plan per non-profit, hosted within only one account, for US-based 501(c)(3) organizations.

Domain registrations (other than any included with the plan) are not eligible for any discounts.

When looking for a new hosting provider, be sure to ALWAYS ask about getting a nonprofit discount. Many of them will give you a special rate if you're a 501(c)(3).

Hi Ana,

You may want to consider also free plan of www.awardspace.com . I am hosting my sites there. They are pretty good, although mySQL services may be sometimes unreliable. But I think you will not find any free host with better performance.

Am considering shared hosting from Inmotion.com. They seem to offer a good bit for not too many $.

Anyone have experience w/them or know anything about them?

(the List referenced by Megan at webhost_thelist_com.htm is coming up blank right now.)

Thanks,
PJ

I've used Webmasters.com for years and have been very happy. They are $119.95 a year. You can find cheaper, but their support is fast, they offer a lot of features, and I've never had any downtime that I've noticed.

I'm not crazy about their email, so we use Google Apps.
