Looking for software to track computer maintenance

I have been searching high and low for a software that will allow me to track inventory of all systems and their installed software and peripherals in my company as well as track repairs and equipment upgrades that have been made. Does any know of a free or low cost solution other than creating a massively big excel spreadsheet for each workstation?
