Help with Raisers Edge and Bulk Mailing

Hi All,

I'm an arts administration student at NYU and new to the development field. I have limited work experience but have been given an opportunity to help with a bulk mailing using raiser's edge.

I've used other databases before, but not raiser's edge and wonder if anyone could walk me through the process? Is it very different than using other databases to do a mailing?

Any advice is welcome. I wish it weren't so hard to get RE training...

If the organization you're working with is on a supported copy of Raiser's Edge, you can find documentation on Blackbaud's web site. They also offer online trainings.

Blackbaud offers a listserve for clients. Perhaps you can post there and find a nearby organization that can help you.

There are two RE listserves outside Blackbaud, the Blackbaud User's Society and the Raiser's Edge Users Forum on Yahoo Groups. The Yahoo Group includes a Files area where people have uploaded training materials. These forums are also good places to find local Raiser's Edge sites.
