Mac Server Freeze.. Is it the Raid? Looking for suggestions.

We're encountering freezes about once a week on our 1.83 Mhz Core Duo Mac mini running OS X Server 10.4.8, Tiger. The freezes do not respond to Command Option Esc so we've resulted to doing hard shut downs by holding down the power button. We haven't identified any particular action that's causing the freezes.

The Mac mini has 2 GB of RAM. The files that we serve with the Mac mini are on an external Firewire RAID 1 (mirrored disks). The Mac mini only has one Firewire port so we have the Firewire drives daisy chained (one of the Firewire drives of the RAID set is connected to the Mac mini while the other Firewire drive of the set is connected to the first Firewire drive).

We have 10 Mac users (mostly Core Duo Mac minis) and 2 PC users. The services that we run are AFP, Printing, Windows and Open Directory.

I've run DiskWarrior 4.0 on the Mac mini and the Firewire RAID drives after crashes but they still come. I've used Disk Utility to repair disk permissions before and after applying Apple updates. Rather than use Software update to apply OS X and security updates I download them from Apple's Web site and run them from the desktop. I always apply combo updates rather than delta updates.

Has anyone else experienced freezes on a set up like this? Does anyone have any recommendations?
