Survey: Open Source CMS Satisfaction in Nonprofits

01-16-2007 12:24 PM

Isovera is conducting a survey on the use of open source content management systems in nonprofit organizations. We want to better understand how satisfied organizations are with specific systems across implementation stages and functional areas.

This short survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Results will be made publicly available as well as included as part of a larger paper that Isovera is writing. The results may also be part of an upcoming conference panel and technology journal.

The survey will close at 9am ET on February 1st (we may keep it open if we aren't getting enough responses). Within the following week, Isovera will randomly select 15 valid responses and email each of them a US$15 Powels.com gift certificate. Valid responders must complete the survey and either have a .org email address or show a nonprofit website URL and name.

To take the survey, visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=118783059303 . Details of Isovera’s use of collected information are on the introductory page of the survey.

Thank you,

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our recent survey on the use of open source content management systems in non-profit organizations.

Of those who participated, fifteen received special thank you in the form of a $15 Powells.com gift certificate. These email certificates have already been sent out.

Summary results are available at the URL below. Isovera will be developing a paper based on open source content management systems later this year.

I agree with the survey results that show a high usage of Drupal. I'm using it for about a dozen sites and absolutely love it.

Recently a good friend of mine found out that his brother has brain cancer and they were looking for a website to post updates. It took me about 10 minutes to set up a website and get them up and running, and they've received lots of very encouraging comments and posts from friends and family - all using Drupal with its built-in contact form, login mechanism, and easy-to-use page creation tools.

I'm sure this could have been done with one of the other frameworks too, but we were very pleased with how fast and easy it was to get it set up with Drupal.
