I just downloaded and installed the Mailshell Spamcatcher thanks to the recent promotion. I have been running it since December 7th and now today I am getting an error that says: Cannot connect to the Mailshell Network. Will retry later. I have also noticed that Outlook is beginning to hang and I did get a message that that Outlook encountered a serious error and needed to close once. Any ideas about what is going on?
Thanks!

I am having a different problem.
I've been running MailShell on my computer for the last year and have had no problems. I downloaded the latest giveaway and received new keys. I cannot configure the software on a second computer (I asked for and was granted 2 keys).
First, a wizard doesn't appear as the instructions say. Without a wizard I attempted configuring manually. I then changed the Outlook Express settings per the instructions and created a SpamCatcher rule and changed the SSL settings (all per the MailShell instructions)
I saved the new settings and attempted to open New Mail. I'm asked for a username and password. Neither the changed username (using # instead of @) nor the old is accepted.
I then checked the settings I've been using for a year on my computer and they are not at all like the new instructions. I installed the new version and once again checked the settings, they hadn't changed and yet the SpamCatcher is working as it always has.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone else have any suggestions. I've emailed mailshell@techsoup.org but hope to get other ideas here.

I've found that the effectiveness of Mailshell has decreased dramatically over time. For desktop protection Spambayes works really well and if you have a server, it makes sense to spend some money and get a hosted solution. I really like Postini, and non-profit pricing is only $2/mailbox per month.
