I'm also quite interested in recommending SalesForce to my organization and would love to see more information on the actual cost of initial set-up and configuration.

Does any one have an experience with SalesForce's partner organizations who offer those services, as well as training?

Any info would be much appreciated - the comparison chart helps to break the information down, but I'm still finding it quite overwhelming!

We partnered with a company called Theikos to configure our Salesforce.com instance. They have now merged with Astadia (www.astadia.com). We are happy with our implementation - and very glad not to have any on-going maintenance fees.

Are there any recommendations for software for community foundations? It would be helpful to have an analysis of the ability of these programs to track grantmaking functions.

Hi, Orma,

The best way to get the email addresses of your donors from them. At the time you get the email addresses you can tell them how you are going to use them, and make sure that this is OK with them. This will ensure that the emails you send aren't SPAM. You want to make sure your donors want your email.

Best wishes,

Can we update the list and get CiviCRM (http://civicrm.org/ on it. Its a free and open source solution :)

We've made a start of the functionality that will be available in CiviCRM v2.1 here:

You might also update the Salesforce.com entry.

"Will be included in nonprofit template in November, 2006."

Hi all.

I'm very new to TechSoup, so pardon if I ask something that has already been discussed.

I went through the donor database software comparison, and realized that sometimes more you know, harder it becomes :smile;

I wanted to see if anybody has any experience with FundRaiser Software http://www.fundraisersoftware.com/index.php

I browsed their web site, and I'm getting a trial cd along with the brochure, but still... I always like to hear it from users.

Thanks!

P.S. Administrators, if you think this message doesn't belong here, you're welcome to move it elsewhere.

I've used FundraiserSoftware for several years. I have nothing negative to say about it. It's the most user-friendly software I've ever used. Also, the tech support is fantastic. Questions are answered immediately. The training is excellent. The ability to print specific donor reports is remarkable. Creating groupings is a valuable asset. I researched a lot of donor data base software prior to purchasing FundraiserSoftware. I found it to be the most user-friendly and least expensive. Don't let the fact that it is reasonably priced make you think it's deficient in areas. That is not the case at all. The folks at FundraiserSoftware are quite cognizant of that many of us not for profits are not "name brand agencies" and don't have access to the pricier software. With that in mind, they've kept the price reasonable and didn't skimp on what was needed for us to be able to produce specific reports, mailing lists, etc. Great software!

We have been using Pledgemaker (Softrek) for many years, and I know there are other similar Performing Arts based non-profits that use it as well. We are currently re-evaluating, and I was hoping to see it on your list. Nevertheless, I will use your list as additional input to help with our evaluation.

GiftWorks impressions needed

We are thinking about buying Giftworks for our office, two licenses at $800 plus total--a significant investment. Does anyone have any experience with this software program they would be willing to share?

We're looking for positive, negatives, anything that would help us decide. We're a small organization, 3 employees total, and resources are therefore stretched thin. We need something that is easy to learn but also, most important, helpful and provides detailed information quickly and easily.

www.fundraisersoftware.com Excellent company, software is easy to use and is reasonably priced. Go to their website and request a trial cd. You will find the ease of use as well as a variety of reports you can generate.
