Title: Web and Production Coordinator
Department: Marketing & Communications
Reports to: Associate – Creative Services and Web Manager
Position Overview: Provide production and coordination support for AJLI websites and for marketing and communication plans and services targeted to League and non-League audiences in order to insure that the websites are current and that marketing/communications materials are produced in the required time frames
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Produce, proofread and maintain online content for AJLI websites (currently, they are ajli.org, vsa.ajli.org, and kidsinthekitchen.ajli.org)
- Maintain and produce website design/layout elements for distribution to Junior Leagues in line with current AJLI branding
- Assist with design and production for print materials in line with current AJLI branding
- Coordinate with team members on project plans and schedules/milestones/deadlines for content delivery to ensure all deadlines are met
- Liaise with vendor(s) and IT unit to ensure smooth operation and function of all data-driven and adjunct web content pages
- Monitor web site usage and assist with the preparation of regular reports and analyses
- Assist with electronic communication efforts including the production and writing of e-mail blasts, e-newsletter, newsfeed, etc.
- Provide technical support to internal content managers
- Field feedback/support communication from public site
- Assist with email inquiries regarding website
- Conduct daily scanning of public site for visual/content discrepancies
- Participate in cross-functional work groups as assigned
- Work on special projects as directed by supervisor
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proven track record and demonstrated success as a web and print designer and writer/editor
- Working knowledge of HTML (three-four years experience)
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Macromedia DreamWeaver and Flash
- Working knowledge of QuarkXPress (desktop publishing)
- Multimedia experience preferable
- Ability to plan, organize, and present ideas in a comprehensive manner and communicate effectively both visually and in writing
- Strong visual aesthetic skills, including web graphics and layout
- Strong familiarity/practical knowledge of content management systems and Internet technologies/protocols
- Familiarity with database principles, backend structures and browser/platform/language compatibility
- Attentive to detail and able to multi-task and work efficiently under multiple deadlines
- Available for occasional travel involving weekends
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or multimedia
- Two to three years experience in web content management and publishing
- Prior experience in hands-on position in small-to-medium tech firm or nonprofit organization employing web marketing and/or direct marketing skills; experience supporting non-technical colleagues highly desirable
