Lost Password for Symantic Corp Edition

03-18-2005 5:44 AM

I have committed an error. Our network admin has left the company an taken his passwords with him. The only thing we are having problems with is symantec corporate addition. I have tried calling them, no help, I have tried to call him, no help. Any suggestions on how to get into this program without the correct password? Thanks

Try either of these 2, it depends on which corp edition you are using. "symantec" or "admin" Good luck, hope this fixes your problem. Keep us posted.

This won't help with your current situation, I'm afraid, but I've found that it's useful to have all important passwords like that written down on a sheet of paper, sealed in an envelope, and stored somewhere that someone can get to them in case of emergency (safe, locked file cabined, executive director's desk, etc...).

The trick there is to update the paper when the passwords get changed. But in general it can come in handy if someone leaves and is unable or unwilling to change or provide passwords.

Windows XP, the orginal post to this thread stated that the administrator has left the company. That means that (s)he is not coming back.
