Can anyone recommend a good projector that will work out doors, under a tent, for less than $1000?
I love the idea of being able to share a screen with the public at community events in the summer. A Mr. Drive In - Complete Outdoor Home Theater Wireless Smart LCD Projector seems too good to be true. I don't trust it is as bright as it needs to be in order to work during the day.
Any insights on a tried and true solution would be much appreciated.
If your tent walls block the light so it's dark it may be bright enough. But at 1,200 lumens I wouldn't expect much if the tent is not dark.
You may get away with a lower-power projector if you spend more on your screen. Make or buy one that is covered with tiny glass beads. In my experience the do the best at reflecting the projector light for a brighter image.
The other option would be to create a shadow box for the screen, but then you may need rear projection to make it work.
