I am working with a nonprofit that deals with e-waste recycling and reuse
In addition to tracking the number of laptops, desktops and mobile devices they process and sell/donate, they equally want to track the volunteer experience.
The goals for the volunteers are two-fold:
1) Output of the work they get completed (# of items, or amount of work done) - Easy to track
2) Learn new skills or take on new challenges - Difficult to track
We are doing some Lean improvement work, but don't want to achieve more output at the expense of the volunteers experience
Does anyone have some experience or any examples with capturing data or metrics around the volunteer experience?
Congrats on wanting to track the impact of your volunteer engagement beyond number of hours provided in service! This makes me so happy... I blog about this topic frequently, to the point of exhaustion.
