Giving Thanks to TechSoup Donor Partners 2009-2010

Our product donation programs wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our donor partners. If you’ve received products from Adobe, Intuit QuickBooks, Microsoft, GiftWorks, Cisco, Symantec, or any of our 40+ donor partners, please take a moment to say "Thanks!"
We want to let them know how their products have helped your organization better achieve its mission.
Take a moment to say thanks, by hitting reply on this message and telling your organization's story and how their products can help you!  They will appreciate hearing from you!  They hear from us all the time, and it's time that they see and hear from the organizations that their products actually serve!
    Thanks and happy holidays,

Susan Tenby, Parernships, Online Community and Social Media Director, Caravan Studios, a division of

  • The citizens of our community use Microsoft products every day due to the programs available through TechSoup.  Without the special pricing available through TechSoup, we'd have to cut back on other things such as purchasing books, media, and other resources our citizens count on from us.  Thank you so much for your contributions to this program!

  • Great, deenybeeny! What org. are you with? Thanks for sharing how MS donations have helped you.

  • The Gathering Place supports women & their children who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. The TechSoup donation program allows us to stay, if not on, near the cutting edge in technology so that we may serve our clients more efficiently. Not having to spend technology dollars gives us the chance to provide resources women need to return to self-sufficiency and/or maintain a safe lifestyle. Many thanks to Cisco, Microsoft, Adobe, and Symantec, all of which have provided hardware or software to our organization. Thank you, TechSoup for making this possible.

  • At this time of taking holidays and giving thanks, all of us at the Bridges for Women Society in Victoria, BC, Canada, want to send a great big THANK YOU to Tech Soup and all of your partners. Bridges is a gutsy, innovative community agency whose programs inspire women impacted by violence to reclaim their lives and build economic security. Bridges has benefitted from software deals with Adobe, Microsoft and GiftWorks. And we have received fundraising support from Intuit as well. Our clients really enjoy their academic upgrading in a computer lab that is decked out with current software. And our Online Program students are able to access the best computer help possible. We wish to acknowledge all of our greater community partners because none of our good works can be done without your tech support!!!

    Happy Holidays to all,

  • Dear Microsoft,

Desert Manna purchased Microsoft Office 2007 for our computers.  This enabled us to upgrade to a more current software program for wordprocessing, spreadsheets, and more.

Desert Manna provides emergency and short-term shelter to homeless men, women, and children in Barstow, CA and the surrounding unincorporated areas.  In 2008, we provided shelter to 613 men, women, and children.

We also provide many free services to the low-income community such as meals, emergency food boxes, USDA surplus food commodities, clothing, utilities assistance, gasoline vouchers, Greyhound bus vouchers, and more.  We provide services to nearly 4,000 people each month.

Thank you for participating in Tech Soup's discount software program.  Without this program, Desert Manna would not have been able to purchase the needed software.

  • The Liberty Theatre presents affordable ticket prices range (from $8.00 - $15.00) for quality productions like "The Wiz", "A Raisin in the Sun", and "Dreamgirls".  Ticket revenue rarely meets the production budgets but since the prices are low, we are able to introduce live theatrical performances to a wider audience. With enormous utility bills (electric bills range from $2,400.00 - $3,700.00 per month ---- even if there is no activity!), the theatre is completely staffed by volunteers.

Mondays through Thursdays we offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and piano classes and tutor students in math, reading, science, and social studies at no charge to our students.  We also have a Youth Leadership Council and a Mass Communications programs for our teens - also at no charge.

Because of the generous donations from Adobe (Audition 3 and Photoshop) and Windows (Microsoft Math, Microsoft Publisher 2007, and Expressions Web 3), we are able to edit some of the music for our Christmas Concert, use the math software for our students (the software is EXCELLENT!!!), create fliers for the youth workshops, and will use the web software in January.  If we purchased any of the software it would have been one or two items spread over several months.  We are so grateful for TechSoup and for the donations and plan to order from more companies when we get a few extra dollars!!

  • Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County in Bloomington, Indiana builds affordable homes in partnership with families in need. We strive to keep our operating costs low so we can serve as many families as possible each year. This past year, software donations from Microsoft puchased through TechSoup have enabled us to upgrade our server to a physical server hosting four virtual servers. As a result of this new technology, we have a top notch system that helps our staff work much more efficently. This upgrade of equipment and software, if purchased at full price, would have cost nearly half of the cost of a home for a struggling family.

Thanks to Microsoft's donation we are able to focus on what we do best--build simple, decent homes for deserving families. Thank you, TechSoup, for the role you play in making quality technology available to non-profits.

  • As a non profit in North Carolina whose mission is provide progrmming for families and hcildren ages newborn to 5 years, the software donations have been 'invaluable' to our success.  We have used the Microsoft donations for Office 7007 - Professional, as well as Vista and now upgrades to Wiindows 7.  The software allows us to be technology advanced and efficient.  The efficiency part has enabled us to keep staffing to a minimum.

  • Beresford Public Library thanks Microsoft, Symantec and Maxtor for their generous software and hardware donations. Your donations have helped so many area residents to compose letters, write resumes and have the access to software that they would not have at home. You make a true difference in the lives of people who are looking for jobs, applying to college, taking on-line tests, etc. Without the software help we would either have less computers with software or have to give up replacing computers as often.

Thanks for all you do for libraries! We love you lots more than the 2 feet of snow that fell over Christmas (:  (It was the fourth worst blizzard in South Dakota history).
