Your work is vital. We are raising funds to support it.
As a one-woman band, new to non-profit, I am looking for a solution path that I won't have to back-track and re-negotiate to get my target achieved.
I have set up the organization, bank account, purchased domain names through Google, and now need to build a website and donation/thank you page (I think?). Then, I believe, the social media portion, all of which I am totally ignorant. I use Windows and have no programming or web experience.
Since this is all self-funded up to this point, I don't mind doing the work, but don't relish the idea of needing a computer science degree in order to do the work.
Once the money is raised, the reason for the non-profit will cease, unless the university or Dept of Agriculture comes looking for me.
Software I can use without a huge learning curve? Host? Choices that will blend with Google for Nonprofits (moving my website up in search results...)?
Do you have G Suite for nonprofits through Google? (I'm pretty sure it's free with a validation token from TechSoup.) If so, setting up a new Google Site is super easy. I'm in the process of publishing one for my church. New Google Sites are kind of limited in creative control and functionality at this time, but I was still able to create a nice, clean, modern-looking site that people in my congregation can edit without needing to know how to code.
Hope that helps,
