Preparations are taking place across the world for Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on May 17, to raise awareness of digital accessibility issues faced by people with disabilities. Public and virtual events are organised to mark GAAD, organisers are encouraging people to experience accessibility problems first-hand on the day, through actions such as ‘going mouseless’ and surfing the web using a screen-reader for an hour. E-Access Bulletin’s Accessibility Advisor, Nick Freear, has created an open source GAAD widget banner-link that can be easily embedded on any website. Read more about GAAD at the Global Accessibility Awareness Day website.
