I received the following message today and because I do online investigations I decided to check this person out.
The more I looked, the less I liked what I found. It appears that this "person" (which I doubt exists) is offering a free web site that is actually from DonorComplete .com. They offer free sites to non-profits, and they charge $20 a month to host them. There is nothing wrong with giving away a razor so you can sell blades forever, but to be deceptive about it is very wrong IMO. The address she provides seems to be a mailbox service according to Google.
Check out the offer if you want, but be aware of how they operate and know that there are less expensive hosting options that can be found. I will say that $20 a month is not unreasonable, but I don't know what that buys you at this company. The person I chatted with online at the company site did not seem to be a native English speaker, but while he tried to avoid my questions he did finally admit indirectly what was going on. Good Luck!
Hi: I volunteer some of my time to help nonprofits with their websites. I worked in IT for 20 years and was also a professional webmaster. I've helped a lot organizations already. Do you have any interest in getting a new custom website at no cost? I just helped a veteran's organization and their site is really nice now. I worked with a children's group before that and also helped them with professional online donations. Sincerely, Christina Williams 855 S. $20 a month to host a website? Seems much too high for standard web hosting. I wonder what else you get for that price.
