I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum, but here's my problem. I've deployed a printer via group policy to a group of computers Windows 7. When I log on to the client windows Devices and Printers and the printer will show up twice. For example: one printer would say: East_Support and the other say East_Support on PrintServer. Both of them will work, but why would I need two?
Anyone experience this before?
My first two thoughts from your description.
1. Was the printer installed locally on the machine and GPO just added another instance?
2. Is the GPO in two places and getting applied twice, perhaps as the user and as the computer?

No the printer was not install local at all only on the server. The GPO only in once places and it's the first gpo that was tested on Server 2008 R.
