our museum's fundraiser is being held in an aircraft hangar with NO phone line. There's a chance that the WiFi in the adjacent building might work, but if not how can i offer credit card services for our silent auction?
We use a credit card machine (like the ones found in small retail outlets) that uses cell phone technology to connect. We obtained it from our bank. I would try calling the merchant services division of your bank and see what they have to offer. Our bank let us rent it for a while to "try it out". It has worked great for us.

thumb drive size web access cards offered by major cell phone carrier would give you access on a laptop. Not sure if that would work for you. I have 60 field reps that use them and they love them. Good download speeds anywhere you are, with very rare weak connections.
hope that helps
Cradlepoint has a product that will take those thumb-drive sized access cards and turn them into a WiFi access point - if your credit card machine uses WiFi.
I use square for credit card processing. Does that work?
