Just got the email from Techsoup today which reads, "Need Microsoft Access? You can get it for an admin fee of just $10. Put the two together and you have a powerful collection of software for just $39."
So why exactly did the price of Pro jump so drastically? I still befuddled by this. I know its not a recent change, but the inability to use Skype4Business Basic since we purchased 2019 Standard has been a huge headache for us.
Hi,I am Account Management Specialist with TechSoup.
On April 1st, 2018 Microsoft split their donation program into the Microsoft Software Donations Program and the Microsoft Discounted and Cloud Offers Program. This reflects Microsoft push - which is happening across the tech industry - to start moving their customers towards Office 365 – Nonprofit Cloud Subscriptions and away from Desktop Products. They also believe their Standard Products should cover the needs of most nonprofit organizations and so moved their Premium Microsoft Products to the Discounted Program only. For Standard Microsoft Products, they are available in both programs, the only difference is the prices. Organizations are allowed to request up to 50 per Standard Microsoft Product type within the Donations Program every 2 years. Should the organization reach that limit within 2 years, they can request additional licenses of the same Standard Microsoft Product within the Discounted Program, which has no quantity limits.
You can learn morning about these changes at: Changes to the Microsoft Program.
