The offer of office standard for a $29 administrative fee is a bit confusing. A techsoup email I got said “You can request up to 50 licenses of each Microsoft desktop software product within a two-year period.” In another place on the techsoup website, it sounds like it is only for one user but you can request multiple licenses for different devices. We currently have three licenses (Office 365 Business Premium) that allow us to download the software for three different users and each one is $36 per year. I understand that we would have to uninstall those versions first (and we would cancel those licenses) but I am reluctant to upset the apple cart for the relatively small savings we would realize. I looked at various links and could not find the kind of clarification I needed. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
It may help to understand that different products have different licensing structures. For desktop products like Office Standard, the quantity you request will equal the number of licenses you will have. One for each user. Device licenses are generally for server products, and Office 365 also has its own structure as you outlined above.
I hope this helps, but if you still have questions I'd recommend getting in touch with customer service http://www.techsoup.org/about-us/contact-us
