Association codes are only needed if you are trying to gain access to an organization that has already been registered with TechSoup. You should be able to go through the join and adding an organization process without issue. during registration, a code will be generated for you and can be changed at any time by editing the organization information.

And that is what I am trying to do - access an organization that has already been registered. Problem is no one in the entire organization has any clue where or what their association code is, so I suspect no one has ever tried to register, or did so long ago no one remembers or kept the record. I DO have a letter from the IRS but it is for the organization not the club. There are thousands of clubs in this organization. Running around like a chicken here. Me Giving up
No need to give up :)
For all folks on this thread, when you are attempting to add your organization and see that it is already registered (you may need to select the right location first) you will be asked for the association code on the left-hand side of the page. On the right-hand side, the name of existing agents is presented, along with the following information:
These people can find the association code by logging in to TechSoup and viewing the organization detail in their account. If none of these people are part of your organization (or are unable to login) , contact TechSoup Customer Service.
The team will confirm your information and help you gain access to the organization.
Seems they still haven't resolved this...
I went through to set everything up and then got an error page that came up saying try again later.
Now, I'm trying again later and it's asking for an association code, which is nowhere to be found and I can't actually call anyone to get this setup.
Please have this sent over ASAP as this is holding us up with Google and we need to get it setup so we can migrate to G Suite.
I am having the same problem and Customer Service only sent me the same faulty instructions. Thanks for nothing!
I believe the customer service team responded to your emails with the association code you requested. If you have additional questions, please let us know.
Im having this same issue with an association code. Im curious why it's not explained in these threads when you've been having this problem for years.
The code is explained and instructions provided in this thread, but I will compile everything below for convenience.

Associating to an Existing Organization
When you are attempting to add your organization and see that it is already registered (you may need to select the right location first) you will be asked for the association code on the left-hand side of the page. On the right-hand side, the name of existing agents is presented, so that you can ask these individuals to login to their account, locate and give you the code, or to invite you to access the account.
If these individuals are no longer are part of your organization (or are unable to login), contact TechSoup Customer Service. The team will confirm your information and help you gain access to the association code, and your organization's account.
I am having the same issue. I believe it is likely that we have an organizational account from signing up through Microsoft and receiving approval for their products for our organization. However, this did not seem create an individual account but only an organizational account. So now that I am trying to set up my own account to utilize, I have no association code, and no one in my organization does (and I am the one who set it up in the first place through the Microsoft registration). If this could be resolved, I would greatly appreciate it. Thankyou,
Jean & Team

Hi All - I was confused for a while on where to find the association code, as I am one of the people the person looking was instructed to contact.
Log into your account, and select the avatar at the top right to see the pop-up to either select "my account" or "log out" - select "my account"
On the left of the new page is your account login info with the option to edit, and to the left is a list of organizations you are linked to. Select the organization on the left that you are looking for the Association Code - when the new page loads, the Association Code is on the right, under the Validation Details section.
you are correct. thanks, barara :)
Those directions only work when the organization has already been added.
When you are creating an account for the very first time, it asks for the association code. It ALSO shows me as the person who owns the org...who happens to be me. However, the org doesn't show up under my organizations. This nonprofit is new and hasn't been setup on techsoup previously.
It seems like there's a big issue with their signup flow - it's assuming you're already associated before you've completed signup.
Did anyone find the answer?
