I purchased Microsoft Office for my organization's use. I have not been able to use, as I need to "activate" the software. I don't recall receiving an activation key or activation information? Did I miss something, or should I be looking somewhere specific for the necessary information? TIA.
Hi PetsPinal. Did you purchase Office through TechSoup?

I did, yes.
Great. I'm moving your question to the Program Help forum so that a staff member will see it.
We're having a ton of issues installing microsoft office. Our IT service provider, All Covered came out for the day and could not resolve this and he even called Microsoft. Please help. We were hoping to save $ but this is costing us more.
I am having a similar issue and cannot find a resolution. I note that you moved the thread but I cannot find it, as well. Has a solution been found for this issue?
You posted this in the right forum. I don't see a reply from TechSoup staff, but they may have messaged the OP offline.
I know that TechSoup doesn't provide tech support. Here's ab article about what is included:
Microsoft's VLSC should be able to help with download and installation problems. The VLSC Rep will only provide support if you tell the Rep this is an “Open License Agreement.” You can reach the VLSC at 866-230-0560, option 4 (5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday).
TechSoup also has a donor partner called HelpDesk listed under the “Services” tab at the top of the website. They provide tech support for a one time fee and should be more affordable then Microsoft for in-depth support (but I hope you won't need in-depth support).
Please post a follow-up when you find a solution.
Hey Robert - thanks for getting back to me. I will follow up with TechSoup and with Microsoft, as well. It's hard to imagine that a simple system like the VLSC (which we've used for years) is replaced by a service that requires an IT administrator. I know Microsoft cannot focus on nonprofits but this is a big hit for those of us that are small. I'll keep on digging.
Have you achieved resolution to this? I'm in the same situation. Very frustrating and unexpected; with Office2016 it was a simple license entry and voila, it Just Worked.
HI Noah - no, still no resolution. Aram, from Techsoup, sent me this email. I tried what he recommended and it didn't work. Maybe it will make sense to someone else?
You do not need to use the click and run installation method with the Mac version you acquired. Rather, the following instructions are adequate. Whatever you've installed should be uninstalled. Of course, sure to preserve any data as needed.
If your Microsoft license has not populated into your Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) account, you can manually import it by following the directions below.
To Add an Open License to Your Profile
License Number: XXXXXXXX
Authorization Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Sign into the VLSC at https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx.
Choose Administration > Add an Open License.
Enter your license number and authorization number and agree to the terms.
Wait 24 hours for Microsoft to process your request.

Any thoughts on what to do is greatly appreciated. My fear is that we'll need to pay Techsoup to install it for us or learn how to be a fancy IT guru. My organization is super grateful for the donation but it seems really weird to offer it with, potentially, such strings attached....
I figured it out, at least for me: I hadn't downloaded the VL Serializer. It's a separate download. After running it, everything functions as expected. The link is obscure; you have to click the "continue" button in the lower right of the Download panel in VLSC. But when you click "continue," you'll see a link for the Serializer.
That worked for me, too. whew.
