I found 2 Windows 10 products on techsoup with a huge price difference but I can't tell how they are different. Can someone help?
Product ID: LS-47919 and Product ID: LS-50506
Yeah I'm seeing this too and would also like some clarity on the difference other than price.
Hi,I am Account Management Specialist with TechSoup.
On April 1st, 2018 Microsoft split their donation program into the Microsoft Software Donations Program and the Microsoft Discounted and Cloud Offers Program. For Standard Microsoft Products available in both programs, the only difference is the prices. Organizations are allowed to request up to 50 per Standard Product type within the Donations Program every 2 years. Should the organization reach that limit within 2 years, they can request additional licenses of the same Standard Microsoft Product within the Discounted Program, which has no quantity limits. Premium Microsoft Products are only available within the Discounted Program.
So, Product ID: LS-47919 and Product ID: LS-50506 are the same Windows Operating System Upgrade, only the price and quantity limits are different. I would request as many as you can of Product ID: LS-47919 first, before switching to the Discounted priced product.
For further details, see Quantity and Frequency of Microsoft Requests on the Microsoft Donation Program - Eligibility and Allotments page.
You can also learn morning about these program changes at: Changes to the Microsoft Program.
Microsoft Operating Systems - Get Genuine Versus Upgrades Get Genuine Windows full PC operating system licenses are different from Windows operating system upgrade licenses. The table below outlines the main differences.
