We are a new non-profit 501(c)(3) that has been qualified and "eligible" for Microsoft Donations. Our hardware/software vendor is implementing a VDI environment where employees will utilize thin-clients to access "their" virtual machine of Windows XX. Microsoft made the following statement regarding Windows 8.1:
Our Microsoft Salesperson told me this:
"Article clearly states that its a full version that supports VDA. You should sign up for the webinar on 11/14 to learn more and order the software. "
1. Watch the webinar (which I did) and
2. Order the Windows 8.1 licenses
Problem. I don't see an option to do this? Get Genuine looks like it is for organizations which already OWN PCs but not quite sure they are legit or commercial. The other option is for UPGRADES - not new, full licenses. So it seems Microsoft made an announcement (and their sales people are directing) non-profits to go to TechSoup and request the donation of Windows 8.1. The nice people in the webinar didn't have an answer for me and said it was too technical and asked me to post to the forums.
Can someone please help or provide me a link/contact information so I can speak with someone who can help us?
Thank you in advance for your assistance and suggestions!

It is Windows 8.1 - Get Genuine that you want to request. It is true that Get Genuine is intended for organizations that don't have a legitimate copy of the operating system, but it is our only offering of a full OS, so that is the version you are going to want to request.
Because it's initial purpose was to be used to legitimize a false copy of the Windows OS and organization me only ever request Get Genuine one time in it's life time and they are nonrefundable. You are still alotted up to 50 if you have no previous requests for other operating systems.

Thanks for the response. Our hardware/software vendor is having an awful time finding Full Licenses OS for WIndows 8.1 via Open Charity, Open Value, Open License route . . . Again, everything seems to be "upgrades". They are looking into VDA for our "Virtualized Environment" through typical retail/commercial channels. However, do you have any recommendations or who else I might be able to contact that can provide opportunities for nonprofit organizations that have needs beyond the 50 license maximums?
Most organizations don't exceed the restrictions unless they have multiple locations. If your organization has more than one location you may register your other locations with TechSoup and then you will be able to exceed the 50 license limitation.
I am not seeing a request on your account so you are still eligible to receive at least 50 licenses from us of the full OS for Windows 8.1. To place a request click here.
If you have no other locations and you still need more full licenses than the 50 TechSoup offers, I can send you an email with other resources for finding Microsoft.
