the answers are definitively not in this thread. Per my post, I am signing up myself and a brand new 501c3 for the first time. It shows no organizations under my account. And yet when I go to add an organization, it shows my name as the owner, and tells me to contact myself.
It is almost certain that after 7 years of you guys having this problem, that it is most likely a bug. All of the steps you propose lead to dead ends.
First, thank you for replying and providing the information that you did. As you have no doubt noticed there's a lot of conversation in this thread, and several people have made similar comments, I have suspected that something was amiss, and TechSoup has been looking into it. Your post may have helped to find one of the issues.
When qualifying / validating organizations, TechSoup will reach out by email if more information is needed to complete the process. If a long enough period of time goes by without receiving a reply, the status of the organization will be changed, temporarily, to "unresponsive". I asked the customer support team to look up your information and they found that you were already associated with your organization (which is why you were listed as the authorized agent) and that it was in the status of Unresponsive. Based on information currently available, they were able to qualify the organization. You should now see it listed in your profile and can move forward with placing requests for donations etc. What is likely in this situation, is that organizations in the unresponsive status are not visible on the website. I do not believe that this is the expected behavior, and have sent this information to be researched.
I am sorry that it has been a frustrating experience for so many, and hope that there are no other issues.
For others who are finding themselves in this sort of loop (organization not listed in profile, go to add and you are listed as the authorized agent) I suspect it is the "unresponsive" status that may be the issue. In that case, the quickest, most direct way of getting things resolved is to contact customer service directly, as they will have access to all of your account information http://www.techsoup.org/about-us/contact-us
EXACTLY! TechSoup should do better. They are sending people in a circular loop without any resolution.
I do understand the confusion and frustration. This issue has been escalated and is being looked into.
the link above has nothing about association code. You ready do need to list the codes here so we can look it up., ie: school/education = 5102, police/fire = 2237 etc. rather than having to wait to call someone during the 7am-12pm time frame excluding holidays.
Are you referring to the organization types that describe your organization's mission? If so, you can find the list here. If you are referring to association codes, they are unique to your specific organization and for security reasons aren't available to view unless you have access to the organization's profile on this website. It is for this reason that speaking to (or emailing) customer service is essential if you need to associate and the person who set up the account is no longer available.
