Become a social impact investor for as little as $50.
I'm the only staff member of a small 501(c)3 (our annual budget is $165,000) and am in need of a replacement to our current donation tracking software. We have about 200 organizations and about 300 active individuals in our database. We use ACS People Suite + Organizations module and have a (very) old client-only product. It is time for a new laptop and time to go to cloud-based. To stick with ACS, the price will be double what we are paying now, plus a $500 setup (conversion) fee. I've just started looking at other products and see the extensive functionality of products like Blackbaud - with email marketing (newsletters) as well. I could really use some guidance on products that are under $1,000 annually. Also, data conversion is important, as I need to report donor activity over time.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi Tina. Welcome to TechSoup!
If you haven't already, check out Idealware's: Consumers Guide to Low-Cost Donor Management Systems. Their criteria were:
IMHO, the most important chapter is called "What Do These Systems Do?" That info should help you prioritize your needs so you can focus on the right systems. Once you know your deal-breakers and top requirements you can talk to vendors that appear to meet them within your price range. Then have them show you those features, talk to references, and do your own hands-on testing of the top system(s).
And be sure to check out TechSoup's product catalog of donor management systems.
