Hi, Treasurer of a 501(c)(3) organization. I have done all the financial recordkeeping & reports on my own version of Quickbooks- year 2014 Professional. I want to acquire Quickbooks 2019 in the organization's name. I'd like to migrate the company records from my Quickbooks (QB)2014 to the organization's new Quickbooks. I will still use the same computer (my own) to take care of financial records, so I'd be installing QB 2019 to my computer. There's no computer network for the organization- it's too small & loosely organized (no staff at all), but it would be nice if other members of the board had access to the QB system & records I maintain.
My questions are two: 1.) can I install QB 2019 on my machine if it's acquired thru Tech soup & technically belongs to the organization (plus I'd like to keep my QB 2014 on the same machine as I use it for my personal finances)? 2.) How if at all can I integrate the new QB with other members' computers if we are not a 'network'?
Hi Bjammer. I don't work for TechSoup, so my guesses here are my own.
The eligibility rules for this donation say:
I interpret that to mean that the software must be installed on a computer that belongs to the nonprofit. I assume they could send that computer home with you, though.
I don't know how you'd integrate this copy of QB with other staff computers if you're not on a network -- but why would you need to? Do multiple people need to use the software?
If you do need a shared version, I think you could log in to the QB computer remotely (e.g., with Citrix or Remote Desktop) or pay a firm to host the software remotely. But you'd need more than one QB license if multiple people will be using it.

Thank you for your message!
You are able to install the QuickBooks product on your personal device as long as it is being used for the nonprofit. I do not believe you will be able to have two instances of QuickBooks on that device (the 2014 version and the 2019 version) and I do not believe you can have multiple company files within that single program. However, Intuit staff really do know more about the technical capabilities than we do here at TechSoup. I recommend calling Intuit support at 877-683-3280 for more information regarding integrating other members of your board so that they can access the organization's financial data.
Hope this helps!
