We are going to be transitioning to Windows 10 computers soon and I need some ideas on backups.
Currently, I have a lab of 29 identical Win7 computers and what I was able to do is to use Windows Backup to create a single backup of a master computer that I could then restore using a Win7 recovery disk. After restore, I would enter the appropriate license key for that computer and Windows would activate.
My understanding is that Win 10 will not allow me to do that, so I will probably need to look elsewhere to try to create a backup image that I could use to restore any of the computers from a single image.
We are not in a domain and have no real way of doing so currently.
Is anyone else using another product or have another way to create such a backup image? What product do you use?
Hi Wendell. Here are instructions on running an image backup in Windows 10. If that ever ceases to be the case, you could choose from a variety of backup tools (Macrium Reflect, Acronis True Image, AOMEI Backupper, EasUS Todo, Paragon Backup) that can create and restore from image backups.

It appears that the Acronis product(s) are no longer available on Techsoup. I've been unable to find confirmation that they have permanently ended their nonprofit donations. Does anyone know whether this is permanent? Whether their products are available through a different channel?
