Space on our computer is limited. We purchased Adobe Suite 6 but still have Adobe Suite 5 as well. I would like to move it to an external hardrive - just in case we need to use that version in future in order to open some files but do not want it to clog my space on my computers.
What is the proper way of moving it to another drive? I do not want to leave any stray files behind. Or should I just keep my serial number and reinstall when need it - it might not be very often I guess.
Here is how I would do it...
Make note of the serial number, and then DEACTIVATE the software using the menu item within the software. This is very important.
Next, uninstall the software using the control panel.
Next, attach your external drive.
Next, using the original CD, reinstall Adobe Suite and choose the external drive as the installation location.
This will work fine as long as the external drive always uses the same drive letter each time you reconnect it.
