I downloaded and installed MS Office Professional Plus 2016 in Feb. of 2016. A few months back, I had to buy a new computer. I hooked up the hard drive from my old computer (s a second hard drive) into my new computer and I have been happily using the software, as it boots from the old hard drive in the new computer.
However, about three days ago, I started getting a popup message when I open word, telling me that I have "x" number of days to activate the software. When I follow the directions to do that and input my serial number, it gives me an error code: 0x00F00C.
Then when I click on the link to "Learn how to activate this Office product" it gives me a couple of choices. Whichever one I follow, it does not accept my serial number.
What to do????
I NEED this software for work.

Thank you, Robert. Believe it or not, I found the fix quite by accident.
I got tired of monkeying around with the issue, so I just ordered a Standard MSOffice 16 from Techsoup to replace my MSOffice Prof. Plus. I received the fulfillment email, logged into Volume Licensing, clicked on "licenses and keys" to find the key for my new product. Of course it isn't there yet, but I did see in the list the MSOffice Prof.Plus 2016, so I clicked on the key just for the heck of it. Guess what? There was a different key than the original one I had.
So, I opened up a word document and got the same stupid box asking me to activate the software (with only ONE day left). I clicked on CHANGE KEY, copied the new key into it, and VOILA! Everything works fine.
It was so simple - only took me two minutes. I wish I had known.
