I'm looking for a recommendation for an online service to process bookings for sailing trips. We are a small maritime museum that sails an 1888 oyster sloop a few days per week with a dozen passengers per trip. I want to have an online schedule where customers can view the sailing schedule & book trips. Payment processing would be nice but not necessary. Looking for a free or low cost solution. Thanks for any ideas.
Would something like WePay work?
I'm testing it out myself now... but not for cruises... though those sound like fun!

We used Eventbrite but it was kind of expensive. You might look at Constant Contact if you have a lot of registrants because it charges a flat rate based upon the number of events you have. Eventzilla supports repeating events and charges $1/per registrant. All charge about 3% for credit-card processing. Accepting online payments could benefit you as it makes it easy for customers to pay, commits people to your trips (reduces no-shows!), and reduces on-site labor and the amount of cash you have to handle.
Thanks so much for posting about your experience. "We used Eventbrite" - would love to know who "we" is. Are you a nonprofit? A library? A group of volunteers?
Everyone - hope you will consider completing your online community profile, to help users know more about you and your background/interests regarding nonprofits & libraries using computer and Internet tech. Here are guidelines on how to do that:
IESC is an international development non-profit in Washington, DC. We used Eventbrite for our Egypt: Forward events. Information about our company is at iesc.org.
As an aside, I believe wepay.com (mentioned earlier in this thread) would not be appropriate for the sailing trips as it does not appear to support repeating events.
