Your work is vital. We are raising funds to support it.
We are a non profit Agricultural Association that holds a county fair to educate about the importance of agriculture. We also support the local 4-H and FFA Chapters in the area. We really only operate full time 2 weeks out of the year. We don't have any technology in our office currently we have been doing everything by hand. We are hoping to get a couple of computers and some services that will be cloud based that will allow the office staff to work simultaneously during the week of the fair. Lots of data entry of fair projects being entered. Also looking for a very basic POS system that we can help maintain cash flow of tickets and other merchandise sold during that week.
Howdy there, Tioga County Fair!
Google Docs is free and offers an easy way to share documents among different staff that need to just see them, comment on them or edit them. It offers:
And everything can be downloaded and opened with whatever Office suite you use (Microsoft, LibreOffice, etc.)
For other suggestions, I think you should write other county fairs of similar size and see if they would talk with you about what they use.
Would love it if you would check in later and let us know what you end up using.

Hi and welcome to TechSoup!
Regarding your second question about POS systems, you have many options. You might want to check out CashierLive. Pricing starts at $75 per month. However, since your county fair only runs for a limited time, you can choose to stop using the service any time within the month and you won't pay more. I encourage you to explore other options as well.
