Many variables to consider for technology budget percentage. How many employees/volunteers currently utilize technology related tools within your organization? Plan to add more users or expand utilization? What types of proactive tech-projects do you plan on considering in the future? Some organizations are choose to employ tech positions while others outsource. Are all current annual subscriptions necessary? Will there be consideration to centralize data/documents within an On-Premise solution to reduce/eliminate subscription model pricing?
I don't have specific information, but since all organizations are different I would consider the following:
- Review what you have spent in the past for at lest 3 years. Make a chart of the data in a spreadsheet. Use a total or break it out into several categories like hardware, software, services, training etc.
- Add your org's budget and number of staff members that need to use technology.
- Project your org's growth and based on that project budget needs for tech.
- Assume that any computer will need to be replaced in 5-6 years, but older machines may be suitable for less critical uses.
That is how I would begin to approach the problem.
