Your NetSquared organizers are gearing up for Social Media September, a month of social media for social good-themed events. We’ll be hosting social media surgeries for local nonprofits and community activists. Social media surgeries are informal drop-in sessions where anyone from the voluntary and community sector can come and pick the brains of our ‘surgeons’ (helpful volunteers who understand the world of Twitter, Facebook, and the rest).
As a warm-up our organizers in Manchester and Cambridge are holding surgeries this August. The event format is a lot of fun. Don’t believe me? Amanda Levinson lists four (irrefutable!) reasons you should hold a social media surgery .
Find your local #nptech tribe and consider sharing your skills as a volunteer surgeon by joining a NetSquared Local group.
Find your closest NetSquared group on our global map. With meetups in 50 cities there’s probably an event near you!
Don’t have a local NetSquared Local group? We’d love to help you start a new meetup.
What have NetSquared Local groups been up to recently? Check out the blog to keep on top of the gossip from our community.
That’s all for now. Join us next time to learn what nonprofit techies are doing in your community.
