We believe that apps are a powerful way for everyday people to act for social good, making their lives, and the lives of their communities, stronger. That's why TechSoup Global and Microsoft teamed up to launch the Windows 8 Apps for Social Good Contest last November.

Developers from across the United States created twenty-one apps for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. From this amazing, diverse pool three winners were chosen based on the impact and benefit that these apps can bring to the world.
