TechSoup is a nonprofit that has many moving parts, programs, services, and functions. It's a lot of work to provide (what we hope is) good content, useful events, inexpensive or donated products from corporate partners, and more. With that, we need your help. There are many ways to get involved; check out the pages on the TechSoup Global site to learn about current job openings and internship opportunities. This post will discuss two of those opportunities in detail.

The TechSoup Content Team Is Seeking Volunteers and an Intern:

Volunteers would play a pivotal role in making things like our nearly 40 archived TechSoup Talks! webinars accessible to a broader array of people by helping transcribe them for the deaf and hard of hearing communities. In addition to transcription, volunteers can help us with developing and implementing outreach strategies so that more nonprofits and libraries know about these free events that take place three to four times per month on a variety of technology, public computing, and social media topics. If you're interested in volunteering, feel free to send an email with your interest and experience to webinars@techsoup.org. Volunteers can be located anywhere and work from the comfort of your own computer.

In addition to volunteers, our team is also looking for an intern for the Winter/Spring semester. This person would join the overall Content Team with projects ranging from being a part of our regular blog team, planning and executing webinars, drafting articles and how-tos, and growing our reach for these useful content tools throughout the library and nonprofit communities.

Ideally, we're looking for someone in the San Francisco Bay Area who has some experience with new media (blogging, social networks, webinars, etc) and understand's some basics of technology and/or nonprofits. You can read a more thorough description and apply for the internship through the info on that page.

We'd love to have you join our team! It's a great opportunity to get your foot in the door for an nptech career, help serve the broader nonprofit community, and earn college credit while you're at it!
